Simon Elliott (he/him) represents the Voluntary Sector on the Cultural Compact.  Simon has a long history in governance roles and previously chaired the North Tyneside Regeneration Partnership (2002-08), the Tyneside Cinema (2009-12), is currently Chair of Connected Voice, the umbrella body for the Voluntary Sector in Newcastle and Gateshead and is also the Chair of Northern Stage.   In addition, he represents the Voluntary Sector’s Membership of Urban Green.   Professionally, Simon was Human Resources Leader for Procter & Gamble Newcastle Innovation until his retirement in 2018.  Throughout all his roles, he has had a passion for diversity and inclusion and has worked to ensure Boards and organisations better represent the communities they serve.  He is equally passionate that making and creating in all its forms is within the potential of everyone and is one keystone of a healthy, engaged and socially just society.
